Can Shame Stop Someone from Reaching Out to Others?
What can’t be denied is that no one is his or her own island; human beings need each other. This is why it has been said that although some people say they are independent, this is nothing more than an illusion.

Therefore, while it might be hard for some to accept, it doesn’t change the fact that we are all interdependent. When we accept this and understand that there isn’t anything wrong with needing others, our lives become a lot easier than they would be otherwise.
