Carmen Gonzalez-Cangiano is an Entrepreneur, who for over the last 25 years has produced the world’s largest independent Internet Technology events. She has launched 15 leading technology print magazines, along with 34 online publications comprised of 500,000 plus subscribers, and 10 million online viewers. She was the co-founder, president, and CEO of SYS-CON Media, Cloud Expo, Inc. and Ulitzer, Inc. In this capacity, Carmen was in charge of SYS-CON’s sales and marketing functions. Under her leadership, the company was named by Inc. 500 among the “Fastest-Growing 500 Privately Held Companies in North America,” three years in a row.
SYS-CON Media, founded in 1994, is widely recognized in the internet-technology and magazine publishing industries as the world’s leading publisher of i-technology magazines, electronic newsletters, and accompanying i-technology breaking news, education and information Web portals. The company has further solidified its dominant role in the i-technology space with the 2001 launch of SYS-CON Events (trade shows, conferences and educations). Before Carmen became a successful Entrepreneur and business owner of the world’s largest independent Internet Technology events and Online Publications, she went through her own personal journeys that led her to where she is today – with a passion to help others discover their inner path, and to awaken to the true version of themselves.
Carmen married her first love at the young age of 18 and soon after, at 21, gave birth to her first and only child, Lissette. A few years later, she encountered the most impactful journey that completely changed her life. Capsizing her entire reality, a month before her 24th birthday and her daughter’s 3rd birthday, Carmen became a widow and a single mom, leaving her devastated because she had no say or control in the matter. Although surrounded by many of her loved ones, she still felt alone and afraid, not knowing how she was going to provide for her daughter and create the life she has always envisioned.
In a moment of clarity, Carmen decided to start focusing on the solution and not the problem. She attended many personal development seminars including Tony Robins’ “Unleash the Power Within.” After several years of pursuing her under graduate degree in marketing & sales, and working several jobs, she took an opportunity co-founding SYS-CON Media where she awakened her true potential and became the person she was truly meant to be. Unfortunately, she was not living the life she envisioned. Twenty-five years later, she now lives the life she deeply desires with her husband Dr. Steven Cangiano, where together they started their mutual shared vision with RD&T. Carmen and Steven both have a passion to inspire, educate and empower, and are devoted to providing the RD&T community with the key ingredients that will enable them on their own personal journey to complete transformation, ultimate success, and a living the lives they deeply desire.
